I just found your web page and I think it is great. My dad and my uncle both had a King Midget but my dad tore his all apart. I still have a few parts from it as for my uncle no one knows what happened to it it my still be in  the garage. I used to drive my dad's around the front yard as a kid I'm hopping to own one someday soon.

I am going to remove original engine from a model II and update with something else. I would appreciate some advise and input on what engine to use.

Hello. I just read through your site and had a nice trip down memory lane. I was actually on the Henry Ford Museum site as I own a 1929 model A pickup and I was looking for orphan cars and  the King Midget came to mind so I looked it up and found your site. I am 54 years old and I recall when I was a kid I went with my dad to a King Midget dealer on Dort Highway her in the Flint/ Mt. Morris Michigan area and for years I wanted one but I could not afford one on a 50 cent a week allowance as a kid. Thanks for the memories and smiles I got looking at your site. If I ever stumble across a King and the price is right and I can squeeze it in between my model A and my 68 Mustang I may have to join up you folks who are keeping an ole classic alive and well.  Thank You... I'm one of those several thousand kids from the 40's & 50's that drooled over the KM ads in Popular Science Magazine, but never owned one.  A KM is on my list for purchase before I die.

I saw a model III vehicle several years back and talked to the owner about where I could get one.  He took my number and was going to call me and never did. I'm still interested and would like to know a little more about them.

I have been looking for information about the King Midget for years. I remember seeing an ad for  the King Midget in Popular Mechanics in 1956-60 when I was in college. Being a very poor college kid, I wished one into my life, never happened. Recently I started to "find" the King Midget. I couldn't remember its name, but did remember it being made in Ohio.  Wrote to a variety of magazines to see if they achieved  ads. No luck. This morning I was sitting on the couch having a cup of coffee and the name King Midget came to me. Got on the computer and here I am. I will certainly be browsing often. Has there been any thoughts of producing this vehicle again?

Saw one at the '08 Pumpkin Run (Owensville) and wondered what it was ....Last week, bought a '61 copy of Pop Mechanics & saw the ad ... had to find it,and did on Your neat site. Why not sell shares/stock in KM? With today's gas prices, I bet it would take off like Google stock did??.

How wonderful to find your site. It is nearly an elixir of youth.  I recall so clearly the ads in the "science and mechanics" magazines I read so thoroughly.  I love the car then and not just because of the economy.  I loved it for its looks.  No doubt I would have been considered a serious weirdo if that was widely known.

The King Midget has fascinated me ever since I saw one of those tiny ads in the back of an old Popular Mechanics (which I think I might still have around the house somewhere.)  What I've been wondering is whether or not anyone has ever reprinted the sheet-metal patterns for the Model I's body, and if drawings still exist for the Model II bodywork.

I try to keep up on what is happening to the King Midgets. I became paralyzed from the waist down in i953 and this was the first vehicle I could drive and even took my drivers test in the King Midget .I owned one back in 1956 and should have kept it. I was over to West Lafayette last summer when a group stopped at the sweet shop. I hope to get downtown Coshocton Fair grounds in August.

Was in Charm Ohio last weekend and got to see the Jamboree attendees arrive and chat with a few. What a sight to see so many of these cars still looking good and actually covering great distances.  I'm looking to rekindle my 70's interest in these cars knowing that the support is ongoing. I'll be signing on as a member soon. AND hope to acquire a 2 place car shortly.

I bought a barely used one of the Model II in '57.I drove it rain or shine till about '62. Have no idea how many miles it had on it. In '59 I installed a much larger Indian Scout eng. and trans from an old Police trike. Was a lot of fun!!!
